Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder, was born on Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was born into an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder's family relocated to Mendocino County, California, when she was just 7 years old. They resided in an area without electric power. Ryder, who read a lot when she was 12 became a book worm due to the fact that Ryder had no access to television. When she turned 12 years old, Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986 she was offered her first big-screen role in the film Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied at high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour would be changed. It didn't turn out. Still, she pursued her dream. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big breakthrough. Ryder continued to be successful in her roles in many movies. In 1993, she was awarded an Oscar Award to be awarded for The Age of Innocence.
